For a long time, I’ve been concerned with encouraging and strengthening Christians in discovering and developing their potential. In February 2016, God suddenly put it on my heart to found a ministry for women and call it POWER-LADIES. The motto was to be: “Experience true love and pass it on“. God was even so good as to immediately give me concrete ideas for how the course should be structured.

In order for women to be changed, however, you need a special, relevant message. And I didn’t have that. I had never preached, taught or had any desire to do so. That’s why from the outset I didn’t feel responsible for the content of the course. I’m a good organizer, but I preferred to leave it to others to provide the theological material. I subtly hinted at this to God: “What am I supposed to say to the women in this ministry anyway? I can’t do that!” His reply: “You sound like Moses!”

But God had given Moses an Aaron to stand by his side (at least at the beginning), and He gave me Yvette Berg van Groeningen, who immediately began to eagerly compile valuable content. But the course was far from complete. I soon had to admit that I was going to have to write course materials, too. It was really difficult at first, but at some point I even started to enjoy it.

When I was revising and editing the script, Sonja Plapper gave me a lot of support, e.g. with constructive criticism such as asking the questions: “How does this relate to the topic? What is the central concept?” God faithfully gave us ingenious ideas for improvement and competent helpers when we needed them. After the first trial course, the overwhelmingly positive feedback revealed what an extraordinary thing God had created and what valuable benefits POWER-LADIES would bring to Christian women. Through the in-depth Bible study, seasoned with personal insights and experiences, the lives of many women have been changed as God poured His love into their hearts. They have become free:

„And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!” (John 8:32).

Christine Faber lives with her husband in the beautiful Palatine region of Germany. She is wholeheartedly committed to helping Christians learn to understand and apply the powerful and life-changing message of the Gospel. Previously, she managed a patent-law firm and helped raise four children. She loves music, plays the piano and flute, and is a passionate choir director.

God had already put it on my heart to spend an intensive time-out with Him every day: my “love project”. God planned everything brilliantly in advance. For months, He had been giving me comprehensive answers and suggestions on various topics, so when Christine asked me whether I wanted to contribute to the script for POWER-LADIES, it was there, ready and waiting!

My desire is for women to be able to spend a specific, intense time focusing on God’s nature – especially on His love. When they do this, receiving help and guidance where necessary, they are so strengthened within themselves that they can powerfully pass on the abundance of God Himself. His love automatically fills emptiness, solves problems and strengthens weaknesses so that God’s church can grow and expand. We women are an important part of God’s congregation, and – with us and through us – He wants to do more than we could ever dream of. When we take each other by the hand, we can work together to accomplish His will.

I pray to God that through the POWER-LADIES course He will give the participants

„… that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. “ (Ephesians 3:16-21)

When Christine Faber told me about God’s mission for POWER-LADIES, I was immediately thrilled. It was a joy and an honor to be a part of a project so close to my own heart. In my life with Jesus and most of my conversations with other Christian women, the core topics such as insecurity, beauty, condemnation or recognizing God’s will had repeatedly come up, and God had always given me the sweetest comfort and most helpful encouragement through His Word. That’s why I’m particularly happy that through POWER-LADIES, whole groups of women are discovering how God truly sees them and what His perspective on their lives really is – in a thorough, Bible-based and personal way. The Bible is the mirror in which God shows us how He sees us, that is to say, like Jesus. My wish is that the Bible become the Power-Ladies’ favorite mirror, that they trust it and show it to others.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it – not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it – they will be blessed in what they do.

Sonja Plapper donates her time to POWER-LADIES, serving as a co-author, editor and consultant, accompanying the entire writing process from the initial idea to publication. She currently works at the University in Trier.
